SET NAME: "Silverette" Animal Studies 6501
PUBLISHER: Tuck
CARD SIZE: Standard
COLOUR: Colour
DATE: 1904 (earliest known postmark)
NOTES: This "Silverette" series of postcards is more or less the same as the previous series "Animal Studies Series". The format on the front is identical, with the Caption, photographer (Gambier Boulton, F.Z.S.) and "Animal Studies" printed on it. The main difference here is that the finish is now a satin gloss rather than a matt finish.
On the reverse, along the left edge is the word "SILVERETTE" along with all the normal printing including the postcard with a number #. This number can be followed by series #, but it is unclear whether this was used consistently. The words "Animal Studies" on the reverse, along the left edge, do change position where they are printed, sometimes near the top of the card and others nearer the centre - this may indicate a different printing period. When it is nearer the centre "Photo Bavaria" is at the top.
