London Stereoscopic

SET NAME: London Stereoscopic
PUBLISHER: London Stereoscopic
CARD SIZE: Standard
COLOUR: Mono
DATE: 1912 (earliest known postmark)
NOTES: The fronts on this series of postcards do not change in format, the depth in printing is the only variation, some being much lighter than others. At least one card is sepia with green printing on the reverse.
The reverse of the cards have a number of variations mainly to do with the postage stamp area, which can be blank, 1/2d, d, 1d (these all refer to inland postage, foreign is always 1d, except when its blank). It is worth noting that where the 1/2d postage is there, the cards are much thicker.
The only other variation on the reverse is in the printing of the addressing guidance. The "be" from the "address only to be written here" can appear either on line 1 or line 2.
Most of the cards have brown printing on the reverse and all of the above variations can be found on these cards. On the cards with green printing the blank postage area but both the "To Be" variations.
All captions are preceded by "LONDON, ZOOLOGICAL GARDENS" except SANDY JUNR.
